Design Hope Toronto 2013
Friday, April 5, 2013, 7 - 10 pm at St. John’s Parish Hall on Cowan Ave. (just below Queen St) in Parkdale.
Once again we will be hosting a night of fun, and the chance to walk away with a one-of-a-kind work of art. This year, we are adding a silent auction component to our already popular raffle and live auction, consisting of 25 works of art based on the theme of shelter, and all donated by local artists.
Hosting this years event will be CBC News Network’s Asha Tomlinson, and Bill Kime of Waddington’s is returning to be our live auctioneer. Again we will be raising money for the Parkdale Activity-Recreation Centre (PARC) and Edmond Place.
Come on out and enjoy the fun while helping those less fortunate in our community.

Design Hope Toronto
2013 open call for artists
Winter is fast approaching, which means it’s time to find our artists for next spring.
If you are interested in creating art to help raise money and awareness for the homeless, please see our artists specification/sign-up sheet below. You have between November 16 and 30, 2012 to submit the form in order for your art to be featured in Design Hope Toronto’s 2013 event.
If accepted, you will have three months to create your one-of-a-kind work of art. The artwork will then be displayed on our website and at the event before being auctioned or raffled at our annual gala.
Design Hope Toronto will be donating the event’s proceeds to the Parkdale Activity-Recreation Centre (PARC). For the past four years, Design Hope has helped raise money for PARC to help develop Edmond Place, a state-of-the-art affordable housing complex for people with mental health issues.
Acceptance will be based primarily on the order of submission, with priority given to new contributors. Acceptance will also be based on ensuring that we have a balanced and representative cross-section of media.
Please consider using your creativity to help those in need.

Thank you for our most successful run yet!
On Friday, April 13, people packed St. John’s Parish Hall to raise money for the Parkdale Activity-Recreation Centre (PARC) at Design Hope Toronto’s seventh annual art auction and gala.
In total, we raised over $20,000 for PARC and the many people who depend upon their services. Enthusiastic bidding accompanied all of the wonderful works of art donated by talented local artists.
We can’t begin to express just how grateful we are to have such a show of support. A special thank you to CBC’s Marcia Young for being a wonderful host yet again, and Waddington’s Bill Kime for running the auction with great humour and dedication.
Thank you to tamm for passionately promoting Design Hope Toronto. They helped take our event to the next level, and we look forward to a long term working relationship with them.
And thank you to Victor Willis, PARC’s Executive Director, for bringing the cause. If anyone needed proof of the great work that PARC does, look no further than the PARC band. Their soulful, spirited music set the tone for the evening.
Design Hope Toronto is but a few people. The artists, volunteers, bidders, and everyone else who donates their time, talent, money and services truly make the event possible.

Stay tuned to Design Hope Toronto throughout the year for news about upcoming events.
Our 2012 event will take place on Friday April 13, 2012. Despite the unlucky date, we will again venture to raise a lot of money for PARC and Edmond Place. As with our last 3 events, we will be hosting our auction/raffle night at St. John's Parish Hall on Cowan Ave. in Parkdale. Check back here often for more information as we get closer to our 2012 gala night.

»February 24th 2012 Artists' Drop-off
This year's artists drop-off reception took place on February 24th. Over 15 artists, most of whom we have never met, came with their donations of artwork. Along with most of the Design Hope Toronto committee, artists were able to meet a few representatives from PARC and enjoy some good food and drink.
Thanks again to all artists who generously contributed a piece to this year's fundraiser.
