About the Work

What Keeps Mankind Alive takes its title from the closing song of the second act of Kurt Weill/Bertolt Brecht's Threepenny Opera, written eighty years ago. The work is about posing questions of the economic and social urgencies of today as we live haunted by the fears of approaching global changes, consequences of which could have lasting disastrous effects.
