Kitchen of Hope
acrylic on canvas; 30" x 24"
About the Work
Kitchen of Hope is inspired by Cathy Crowe's book, Dying for a Home, and reminds us of our need to understand homeless people and to help out in anyway possible. Dixon Hall's kitchen represents a safe environment that is removed from the harsh realities of the street. It symbolizes a starting point for change, offering not only the basic necessity of food, but a chance for the homeless to connect with staff and volunteers who provide new direction, opportunity and hope.
