Unbearable Lightness of Being, 2008
wood, styrofoam, plexiglass and feathers; 8.625" x 6.25" x 5.5"
About the Work
While working on this sculpture I was thinking about cold Canadian winters and the warmth and shelter everyone dearly needs. It is very hard to accept the fact that Canada is one of the most developed countries in the world and yet so many people are homeless. Sometimes, the insignificance of our decisions - our lives, or being - is 'unbearable'.
