Urban Shelter

giclee photographic print; hand made metal frame

About the Work

Protection, sanctuary, safety, security and refuge define shelter. But the definition of shelter changes depending on who is asked. Most common to us all is the shelter a building or an umbrella offers from the elements. People shelter their families, their money and their demons. The images used in my piece were shot walking around Montreal. A visual exploration into the shelter or lack thereof, provided by the city. I often make my frames in an atypical fashion that does not surround the whole image, yet still lends the support needed.
