About the Work

This piece personifies Canadians working together creating shelter and home with projects like Design Hope. Canada is a unique country that makes a well known effort to ensure that everyone, no matter what race, fits in. Because of this, Canada is a young multi-cultural country that doesn't yet have the elegance that older countries like France and Italy have in their imagery.

My piece represents the beginnings of a series capturing elegance in Canadian imagery. I am attempting to create an elegant texture that all of Canada can relate to no matter what their heritage. I am using the outline of Canada and its negative space to invent a personal and elegant Canadian image.
