About the Work
While we shelter ourselves from the abuse that occurs daily around the world, we have a direct connection to these world aff airs through the food we eat, the clothes we wear, the luxury items we enjoy, the words we speak, and most importantly, the education we choose to engage in. The Eye of the Hurricane is an exploration of the continued and increasing abuse of both the environment, and the people it sustains.
About the Artist
Mindy Alexander received her Honours BFA in visual studio art at York University. Now she is living in Waterloo working as an artist-educator at the Kitchener- Waterloo Art Gallery. She is currently concentrating on exhibiting her work while continuing her exploration of the connections between people around the world.
