Design Hope Toronto is a volunteer initiative that raises funds and awareness for local organizations dedicated to helping the homeless.

We invite artists to create one-of-a-kind artworks inspired by the idea of "shelter." These pieces are then auctioned and raffled off at our annual event with all of the proceeds going to one of the many deserving homeless programs in Toronto.

We are also seeking corporate sponsors, cash donations and volunteers in our quest to help the homeless.

Design Hope Toronto is based on and shares the goals of the original Design Hope, which began in Hamilton in 2001.

»DHT 2010 Raffle Tickets now on sale

We are pleased to announce that six of our past contributing artists have donated works of art specifically to be raffled at our upcoming 5th Annual DHT Art for Shelter event on April 16, 2010. All proceeds will be in support of the Parkdale Activity-Recreation Centre.

Tickets are $10 each, or 3 for $25. For more information, or to purchase tickets, write to info@designhopetoronto.ca or call Bill at (416) 581-1620. Tickets may also be purchased at the event.

Each ticket purchased will be placed in the drum corresponding to the artwork of your choice.

500 tickets printed.
Must be 18 years of age or older to purchase tickets and a resident of Ontario.
Prizes must be accepted as awarded. No cash substitutes.
Each ticket will be eligible for one prize only.
Taxes are included for all prizes.
Winners will be contacted by phone if not present at the Design Hope Toronto 2010 Art Raffle.
Winners will also be posted at www.designhopetoronto.ca and printed in the Parkdale Liberty Villager.
Six Prizes will be raffled.

»DHT 2010 Open Artists Call Now Closed

Thanks to all who submitted applications for consideration in Design Hope Toronto 2010. Accepted artists now have until late February to create their one-of-a-kind works of art.

Artwork will be posted here in early March.

Design Hope Toronto has just released volume 3 of their newsletter, Shelter. »Design Hope Toronto 2010 moving to Spring

After 4 years of holding the annual Design Hope Toronto gala event in the heart of the winter season, we are moving it to April. Our event will still take place on a Friday, and will be the usual 7-10 pm extravaganza of auction, raffle, speeches and great food. It will also, for the second year, take place at St. John's Parish Hall, and will again benefit PARC and their efforts to rebuild Edmond Place. Mark your calendars, Design Hope Toronto 2010 will be on Friday, April 16, 2010. Check back to this site regularly for more updates.
